What to Wear for Your Photo Session

Choosing outfits is the part most people stress about, so I made it easy. These are pieces I love seeing in front of my camera, picked because they photograph beautifully in natural Florida light. Whether you are booking senior pictures in Orlando, a family session in Winter Park or a beach session in Cocoa Beach, start here.

Senior Sessions

Textured tops with your favorite jeans and soft, flowy dresses are my go to for Orlando senior pictures. Lace, crochet, eyelet and chunky knits add depth that flat fabrics just can’t, especially at golden hour in spots like Baldwin Park, Winter Park and Lake Nona.

Family and Holiday Sessions

Pick a color palette instead of matching. Two or three warm, muted tones plus one simple pattern keeps everyone looking connected without feeling staged. Earth tones like cream, camel, rust, olive and dusty blue are my favorite because they keep everything warm. Dress the youngest kids first, then build everyone else around them.

Beach Sessions in Cocoa Beach

Light fabrics that move in the breeze are perfect by the water. Think cream, ivory, dusty blue and sandy earth tones. Bare feet are always welcome, and I’ll let you know when to kick off your shoes.


A Few Quick Tips

Choose fabrics with texture or movement, like lace, linen, knits and flowy skirts.

Choose cream or ivory instead of bright white, and dusty blue instead of bright blue, so skin tones stay warm and nothing glows on camera.

Skip big logos, neon colors and tiny busy prints that distract in photos.

Bring a second outfit option, especially for seniors.

Wear comfy shoes to walk between spots and bring the cute ones for photos.

Nails clean or bare, and hair the way you feel most like yourself.
