What to Wear for Your Session | Orlando & Cocoa Beach Family Photography Styling Guide

Choosing outfits that align with my brand’s color palette will truly elevate the overall look of your session. These tones are intentionally selected to complement my editing style and create images that feel cohesive, timeless, and beautifully balanced.

Beyond color, the biggest impact comes from texture, movement, and layering. Think flowy fabrics, soft knits, linen, or pieces that add depth and dimension. Movement, like a dress that catches the wind or layers that add shape, brings your images to life in a way that flat clothing cannot.

Instead of matching everyone exactly, aim for a coordinated look. Mixing tones within the same color family creates a more natural and elevated feel. Adding in a subtle pattern can help break things up and add visual interest, as long as it complements the overall palette.

This approach to styling photographs especially beautifully in Orlando and Cocoa Beach, where the natural light, soft tones, and outdoor settings enhance warm neutrals, textures, and movement. The result is a gallery that feels effortless, connected, and true to your family.

The goal is for everything to feel intentional without looking overly styled, allowing the focus to stay on your family and the moments we capture.

What to Wear

You will receive a detailed style guide upon booking to help you choose the best pieces for you and

your family. I am also available to help you every step of the way!

Women and girls:

Choose items that flow and loose materials. Long dresses and/or skirts that move with you are best. Add accessories like hats, rings, earrings and scarfs. Layers help with texture and variety.

Men and boys:

Wear a neutral colored shirt. Solid t-shirts, henley's, linen shirts. Khakis, navy pants/shorts, or linen shorts all look great! Keep it natural. Stay away from polo shirts and patterned dress shirts.

Colors:

Neutral, earthy colors such as burgundy, sage, brown, tan, beige, grey black, denim, rust, blush, mustard, cream, navy, all look great! Do not be afraid to choose bold colors!

What to Avoid:

No bright, neon colored clothes. Stay away from pure white. Choose shoes that are neutral or skip them all together.

Avoid stiff clothing, large prints, words or phrases, patterns and any large graphics or logos.

No matchy matchy - It is best to limit to one (maybe 2 depending on group size) in a pattern and all others in complimentary colors.
