Creative Photo Sessions in Orlando: A Retro Laundromat Shoot

Some of my favorite sessions are the ones that feel a little unexpected.

For this shoot, I wanted to step outside of the typical field or beach setting and create something that felt fun, nostalgic, and a little different. A retro laundromat ended up being the perfect location.

The goal was never to make the photos feel overly posed. I wanted movement, personality, color, and that slightly imperfect, lived-in feeling that makes an image feel like a memory instead of just a picture.

We used the rows of washing machines, laundry carts, bright signage, and little details throughout the space to create images that felt playful and almost cinematic. The styling was kept simple so the location could really become part of the story.

One of the things I love most about photographing in Orlando is that there are so many interesting locations beyond the traditional parks and outdoor spaces.

My photography style is centered around natural light, so when I am choosing indoor locations, I am always looking for spaces with windows or enough natural light to create the look I want.

For creative sessions in Orlando, the location is a big part of the final images. I look for interesting textures, colors, light, and little details that help make the gallery feel cohesive.

That is one of the reasons I loved this laundromat so much. It already had so much personality on its own.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a beautiful beach session or a golden-hour field. I love those too.
